Speed skating in the Olympic Stadium
In 2014 and 2018 there was a giant pop-up ice rink in the Olympic Stadium of Amsterdam. Over hundred thousand visitors for 'De Coolste Baan van Nederland' and over tenthousands speed skating fans at the ISU World Allround Speed Skating Championships. Speed Skating History has been written! The dream of House of Sports and Rintje Ritsma has become reality. We are proud and hope you enjoyed your stay in Amsterdam! The ISU World Allround Championships
It all started with a dream. A dream of former world champion Rintje Ritsma and Sportsmarketing agency House of Sports to once organize a World Championship Allround in the open air of the Olympic Stadium of Amsterdam. The dream has become reality! Speed skating history has been written and we are extremely proud.
Over hundred thousand ice-skating visitors were at ‘De Coolste Baan van Nederland’. Over hundred clinics and events. More than thousand volunteers and crew members who have been working very hard the last few months. Over tenthousands visitors at the ISU World Allround Speed Skating Championships. The 43 former world champions allround speed skating who were present, among them Eric Heiden and Johann Olav Koss. And ofcourse two new ‘Masters of the World’: Patrick Roest and Miho Takagi. A spectacular slot of a special event.
